20 on 20’s

There’s something super particular about your twenties that makes you feel very independent & adult like, yet very child like at the same time. It’s a pretty incredible time as well, as it’s a period in your life reserved solely for you to discover who you are, experience new things, meet new people, see new places, grow, and if I kept going on with this list there would be nothing for me to write about now would there? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Consider this my guide to living your twenties to your fullest. Not saying I know it all on the whole twenties thing, but I’ve been doing a pretty good job thus far, if you ask me..

  1. Travel. Simply put. See the world. It’s pretty freaking cool.
  2. Be spontaneous. Don’t get stuck into a routine, they’re constraining, and most of all – BORING.
  3. F^$% up a little bit. It’s OK to make a few mistakes and occasionally break the rules.Don't forget to have a little fun:)
  4. Innovate/create. Utilize that brain of yours & bring all your amazing ideas to life.
  5. Use your dough wi$ely. Alright, alright, I could get a BIT better at this one. But at our age, we need to make sure we’re investing in things/items/experiences/people that we’re going to care about later. i.e. surprising your big brother for his 30th in Chicago or a spontaneous trip to Vegas with your sisters ๐Ÿ™‚ OR you could listen to this smart lady I like to call my mother, and learn to save while you’re young.
  6. Don’t settle. Why do you need to? We’ve got our whole life ahead of us, enjoy it, and be picky.
  7. Cut the fat. AKA cut those friends that aren’t worth keeping. In your twenties, you’ve got a full time job, responsibilities, etc. It’s about knowing who is worth your time and who is not. You know who is going to be your cheerleader or your opponent. We’re at the point that we know who we are, who we want to be, and who is going to help us get there. Surround yourself with those people who are going to help you accomplish your goals and be right there with you every step of the way.
  8. Be thankful for what you have. Cherish your family and all of your blessings, I’ve found my twenties have really opened by eyes up to what is important, and what isn’t. Be aware of that.ย ย ย  20140324-235636.jpg
  9. Capture the moment. Between our iPhones, Facebook, Instagram, etc. there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to show our kids/ remember all of the kick a$$ things we did.
  10. More importantly – be IN the moment your capturing. My friends and I play the ‘no phone game’ occasionally. Try it sometime. Get your #instagram pic, post and SOCIALIZE.Wherever You Are, Be All There. #truth
  11. Be a kid. At the end of the day, your twenties are so glorious because your still learning. You can still have fun and be childish, so take advantage of it.
  12. Job jump. OK – not literally. BUT figure out what you love to do. If you’re at a job you hate, figure out why. Do some research. With the vast amount of careers out there today, there’s NO reason why you should hate going to work every day. People who are succesfull are passionate about what they’re doing every day! Be in love with what you do & you’ll shine.
  13. Be selfish. If you’re ever going to be selfish, your twenties are the time to do it. Make yourself your number 1. See what you want to see, experience what you want to experience, buy what you want to buy, do what you want to do, the list could go on & on…. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  14. Be a little scared, it’s good for you. You know that little place we like to call our comfort zone? Leave it. Trust me, you won’t regret it.Get out of your comfort zone #JetsetterCurator
  15. Say yes. Stop the over-thinking. Things will work out. Experience life & say yes to new experiences."say yes and you'll figure it out afterward" - Tina Fey
  16. Meet new people. When I try to fathom the amount of people in the world that I have yet to meet, it’s mind blowing. Some of my best friends today are people that I’ve met within the past year. EVERYONE you meet knows something you don’t. Crazy right?
  17. Be an individual, This is the time to relish in your individuality and embrace whatever it is that makes you unique.
  18. Be healthy. ALL around. At your twenties, we’re at our prime. Wanna stay even close to there? Eat well, live well, voila.
  19. Communicate. Simply put. If you’ve got a thought, voice it. If you’ve got an issue, fix it. We’re too old to keep it all in, it’ll weigh on you.
  20. Have FUN! Do I need to elaborate?

Life is A Party.

Until next time friends,

XOX – Alysia
